DAVID GENTLEMAN

My Town

11 – 18 MARCH
6 St James’s Place, London SW1A 1NP

David Gentleman (b.1930) is an iconic British illustrator and designer who has lived a lifetime in London. His most public work in the capital is the platform-long mural at Charing Cross underground station depicting the making of the medieval Eleanor Cross.

Patrick Bourne & Co. are delighted to present a selling exhibition of Gentleman’s original London drawings, watercolours and wood engravings – from student days to the present – as we celebrate the publication of his most recent book, ‘My Town’ and also his 90th birthday. These beautiful and intricate works – of the Thames, the City, Hampstead Heath and Primrose Hill, as well as individual buildings, sights and hidden corners – offer us the pleasure of looking again at the everyday.
